Dear Friend,
I cannot sugarcoat this. In the wake of the chaos in Washington, your nonprofit partners are struggling, and we need your support.Â
By now, you’ve surely read the headlines that all federal funds were frozen last week before, purportedly, being unfrozen. Unfortunately, those reports aren’t quite accurate. We received word late yesterday that funding for some of our restoration projects has been paused until further notice.
Despite what you’ve heard, federal funding to all organizations has not yet been restored.
Due to this freeze, the future of these restoration projects is uncertain. We are hopeful the freeze is temporary in nature and we will continue to work with the communities affected so their projects can be implemented as soon as federal funding is restored.Â
Help us raise the alarm and demand a restoration of federal funding!
This news is extremely disappointing, but we are not alone. Arundel Rivers is just one of many impacted organizations across our communities and the health of our waters is only one of many critical issues at stake in this chaos. We’ve already contacted Senator Angela Alsobrooks, Senator Chris Van Hollen, Congressman Steny Hoyer, and Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth to share news of the local impact this freeze is having on the communities they represent. Help them tell our story by clicking on their names to contact their offices, say THANK YOU, and ask them to KEEP FIGHTING TO RESTORE FEDERAL FUNDING.
Finally, I will leave you with the good news.
Arundel Rivers is incredibly resilient because of you.Â
Despite this funding freeze, our staff will continue delivering programs today, tomorrow, and next week. We can only keep delivering because each and every dollar you donate has no federal funding strings attached. Your continued support is how we built a diversified, resilient organization to face challenges like this. And your support is how we will come out of this chaos more resilient than ever.
Together, with you, Arundel Rivers will not waiver in our mission to heal our rivers and strengthen our communities.
Together, we are Arundel Rivers!
