SAV Watchers

The SAV Watcher Program is BACK!

About the Program

Submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) provides a wealth of benefits to our waterways! Help us gain a better understanding of where and what species of SAV might be growing in the South, West, and Rhode Rivers.

SAV Watchers is a program developed by the Chesapeake Bay Program to provide volunteer scientists with an engaging and educational experience with SAV while also generating useful data for Bay scientists and managers.  Volunteers for the SAV Watchers program monitor our waterways for SAV beds and report them to the Riverkeeper.

Please email Mairin ([email protected]) for questions about the program or to get started!
