Living Shorelines Restoration

Homeport Drive Living Shoreline

This 240 ft. living shoreline on private property was funded by the landowner with assistance from a Chesapeake Bay Trust grant. It is located on Church Creek, which had been assessed as the most impaired creek on the South River. This project is part of a much larger effort involving over a dozen restoration projects, several of them, quite large, to improve the creek’s health.
