St. Mark Stream Restoration
Arundel Rivers Federation is pleased to begin environmental restoration at St. Mark United Methodist Church to address flooding concerns, create new habitat, and improve water quality. This project will restore a crumbling stormwater pipe to a stream, helping reconnect Piney Run, and will enhance the site’s ability to convey and treat stormwater and redirect flows currently flowing over the parking lot. In addition to mitigating flooding, this project will stop harmful sediment and nutrients from entering Piney Run, the Patapsco River, and thus the Chesapeake Bay each year.
